Rumors are circulating that Chinese leader Xi Jinping is under house arrest after a military coup.
Analyst Comment: Beware any rumors coming out of China. Xi has been absent immediately following his return from Uzbekistan, which has fueled the house arrest rumor. However, there are several alternative explanations: Xi could be sick and in quarantine, or this could even be a larger purge of Xi’s rivals.
