G7 nations ( Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union) plan to enforce a “price cap” on Russian oil partly by sanctioning any oil shippers that transport Russian oil above the target price. The “price cap” will go into effect for crude oil on December 5th and February 5th (2023) for refined products.
