UK’s new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, is planning a £130 billion ($150 billion) bill to fund energy subsidies for people and businesses throughout the UK.

Analyst Comment: This is going to be a very expensive Winter for Europe. So far, there doesn’t seem to be any long-term plan to replace lost Russian natural gas. Most EU politicians seem to be under the impression that Putin will eventually turn the gas back on at some point. There is no major initiative to build out more infrastructure for alternative sources of natural gas or other energy options.
