While the DHS’ disinformation governance board is officially shutdown the agency now claims, “there is no need for a separate Disinformation Governance Board.. the Department must be able to address the disinformation threat streams that can undermine the security of our homeland.”
Analyst Comment: DHS flagging content it doesn’t like to private businesses, when those private businesses could face retaliation by the government if they don’t comply, is a clear first amendment violation. The CDC, FBI, DHS and White House administration have all been engaging or plan to engage with social media companies to censor speech.
