Lebanon is another country to keep an eye on. The country is heavily reliant on wheat imports from Russia and Ukraine. The 2020 explosion in Beirut destroyed Wheat silos, reducing the country’s storage capacity to one month. Meanwhile, devaluation of local currency is driving farmers to switch from Wheat to more profitable crops.
